1. What This Reference Is
Windsor Residents Directory is a private reference service. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections concerning people who live or have lived in Windsor, California. Government records are not hosted here, and the service is independent of every office, court, library, and records custodian.
2. Lawful Use Rules
Use the service only in a lawful way. Neither the pages nor anything reached through them may be used to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
- Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
- Commit identity theft or fraud
- Make FCRA-regulated decisions, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions
- Scrape or republish the service’s content at scale
- Disrupt the service, its security, or its normal operation
3. No Consumer Reporting Agency Status
This service is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. The pages and results returned by linked tools are not consumer reports and may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.
4. Independent Linked Services
Government portals and third-party services, including sponsored search tools, operate under their own terms and privacy rules. Windsor Residents Directory does not control or guarantee their content, availability, price, or data practices.
5. No Warranties
The service is offered “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. No promise is made that a page is accurate, complete, or current, or that an outside portal will function or return a correct result.
6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of this service or a linked resource, including a decision based on a record found through it.
7. Your Responsibility
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that results from misuse of the service or breach of these terms.
8. Copyright and Site Material
The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Links and brief attributed quotations are welcome. Full-page republication and systematic copying are not permitted.
9. Changes Posted Here
An updated version may be posted on this page. Continued use after the update is posted means the revised terms are accepted.
10. Access Restrictions
Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms or abuses the service, at the operators’ discretion and without advance notice.
11. California Law
California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. References to Windsor or Sonoma public records point to the California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000 et seq., which governs access to identifiable existing records and does not require an agency to create a new record. California consumer privacy rights are addressed in Civil Code §1798.100 et seq., including the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act.
12. Severability
If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
